SINCE bursting onto the scene in 1986 with the epochal crossover rap hit "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party)," from the quintuple-platinum Licensed to Ill, the Beastie Boys have continued to defy observers who initially pigeonholed them as nothing more than knockoff white rappers.
